For MATTHEW HEAD, producing music is more than just coming up with a catchy hook and a beat that makes listeners bob their heads—that comes natural. Instead, it's about taking people on a journey.
Born and raised in Marietta, Ga, just north of Atlanta, Matthew Head, known to his friends as "Matt," fell in love with music when his parents bought him a piano at the age of four. While his friends played on the playgrounds, Matthew tickled the ivories, studying classical music. He grew up in the era when his musical idol, Quincy Jones, helped Michael Jackson become an idol himself, producing the ground-breaking album, “Thriller.“ Matthew took that inspiration and ran.
In his early adolescence, Matthew produced his first record with best-friend Darian Moorman, a local artist/songwriter. After listening to the finished product, Matthew was convinced that making music was his calling.
Honing in on his own unique and defining sound throughout the years, Matthew has also ventured into other areas of the entertainment field. With the upcoming release of the comedy ”The Kissing Bandit,” directed by The Horne Brothers, Matthew composed the film's score and produced all of the music. The Grammy-bound producer has also recorded a series of jazz enthused tracks as well as some RnB and Hip-Hop grooves with vocalists Danay Mariney. He successfully released his first mix tape, "An Interview with a Producer Volume I" in July of 2006 and is set to release volume II in October. With the success of the mix tape, Matthew has received rave reviews about his production. In May of 2006, Matthew also received four placements on a major gospel album titled "Father Guide Me" by Euclid Gray.
Matthew has grown to be a producer with a mission and dreams to take the music industry by storm. This young producer has the ability to be one of the most versatile producers in the music industry. From producing tracks for Hip Hop and RnB artist to scoring films, he is truly chasing his dream.
